Coming to our Drop-off Holiday Club

Goodrich Primary, SE22 0EP

Thank you for visiting our Holiday Club pages to find out more about what we offer. We have adapted our Creative Holiday Club which runs at Goodrich Primary, SE22 0EP for 4-11 year olds 8:00am - 6:30pm every school holiday (excluding Christmas) so that we can operate a full-on day of excitement, adventure, creativity and indoor and outdoor creative fun keeping children in bubbles of 15.

2021 Dates:

FEBRUARY HALF-TERM: 15TH - 19TH FEBRUARY 2021

EASTER HOLIDAYS: 6TH - 16TH APRIL 2021 (NOT OPEN EASTER MONDAY 5TH APRIL)

SPRING HALF-TERM: 1ST - 4TH JUNE 2021 (NOT OPEN BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 31ST MAY)

SUMMER HOLIDAYS: 5 WEEKS FROM 26TH JULY - 27TH AUGUST 2021

As guidelines change, we will adapt our provision accordingly. All our 2021 clubs up to the end of the summer holidays will go on sale on Monday 16th November. To book for our clubs you need to have a MACIC BOOKING account. Click HERE to set one up or login. It can take a little bit of time to get fully set up as we need a lot of details for Ofsted purposes. But once you have your account and have added your children, you'll be able to book any of our clubs, pay by card, childcare voucher or tax-free childcare or spread the cost in instalment payments.

So, what can your children expect from a Nimble Arts holiday club? Here's how we'll be running things in 2021:

  • As children are booked into the clubs, we will arrange them into bubbles of 15, ideally keeping them in the same bubble for the number of days they are with us that week. We only have 15 spaces per group so, although we want to be as flexible as possible when parents request friends or siblings to be together, we need to keep children of similar age together, and we cannot exceed legal group numbers. When you book you'll receive an email with a link to our online group request form where you can let us know that your child would like to be with a friend. We will send out bubble lists before the club so your child will know which group they will be in. Monday - Wednesday are our busiest days where we will have up to 10 bubbles:

  • CATERPILLARS - Pre-school 4 year olds

  • HEDGEHOGS - School-age 4-5 year olds

  • CHIPMUNKS - 5-6 year olds

  • PUFFINS 5-6 year olds

  • SQUIRRELS -Year 2

  • DOLPHINS - Year 3

  • TURTLES - Year 4

  • MEERKATS Year 4-5

  • ZEBRAS - Year 5

  • EAGLES - Year 5-6

  • Ages/year groups are approximate and will be organised based on demand. You can book anything from 1-5 days flexibly, but children will remain in their bubble for all the days they attend. We will not be able to change bubbles on the day and will be in touch before the club to ask about requests to be in the same group as friends/siblings if they are close in age. We want children to have a brilliant time with us so we will be as accommodating as we can, but have to be strict with bubbles once they have been arranged. The staff for each bubble will be the same each day wherever possible. Rest assured, your child will be warmly welcomed and made to feel part of the team from their first steps through the door. Many children attend on their own and our staff are very experienced at helping children settle in and make friends.

  • Children should be dropped off at the Dunstan's Road gate (not the main school gate but the double gate a little further up. the road). Parents and carers will not be allowed onto the premises while restrictions are in place, and are asked to wear face coverings unless exempt. Children will be signed in and told which group they are in and then welcomed in by staff. Depending on their age group, they will follow a time table of activities which include video workshops in their bubbles, live workshops in halls and fun fitness sessions both inside and outside. There will be lots of make and take home, and their time between sessions will be spent choosing creative activities in their bubbles. They will have lots of outdoor play too! Each day will start with a message from our resident time-travelling robot Switcher! He patrols time and space helping members of the Time Squad and you never know where he'll end up! One day we might be helping him escape from space pirates, the next we could be under the sea in the Mermal Kingdom helping defeat and Octodroid! Every day children will learn, make and create their way to helping Switcher wherever he might be!

  • 8.00am - 9.30am Drop-off On arrival children will be shown to their Bubble Home Room where they'll be met by staff and shown where to store their lunch and coat. Classrooms will be set up with a range of sit-down activities for them to choose from. We will be running a drop-off system that ensures safety for staff, parents, carers and children.

  • 9.30am - 10.00am Mission Launch once all children have arrived in their Bubble Home Rooms the day's mission will be launched via video showing children what is needed to save the universe that day. This will include a range of mental., creative and physical challenges.

  • 10.00am - 3.30pm Workshops Throughout the day, children will complete 4 sessions including live video workshops with our amazing workshop leaders, invention challenges, design challenges, skill challenges and drills with the amazing Les Mills Born to Move team (sneak peak here) Workshops will take place in their Bubble Home Room and drill sessions in socially-distanced hall spaces. Sessions will be fast-paced with lots of variety so, although we can't have the visitors we normally have actually in the room, the day will be driven by the narrative of the mission. There will be lots of outdoor break-time in between sessions.

  • 3.30pm - 4.00pm Show and Tell and Story Time (for our younger children)

  • 4.00pm - 5.00pm Collection We will be operating a socially distanced Covid-secure collection process

  • 5.00pm - 6.30pm Late Pick Up Club All children booked into our Late Pick Up Club will be taken to our Cinema rooms for an end-of-the-day film, (popcorn and fruit provided) and parents/carers will be directed where they can be collected any time up till 6.30pm

  • We don't publish the adventure theme for each day as we like to add to the sense of excitement in the morning when children hear from Switcher and learn what they have to do to help him out! Our Bubble teams job is to create a sense of team work and friendship with their Bubble Crew while they follow their video workshops or work with visiting workshop leaders, or use their imagination in between sessions! All our staff and managed are experienced teachers, TAs or arts practitioners with enhanced DBS checks.

What do we need to bring?

Every day is a completely different adventure at Nimble Arts but the things you will need on each day are:

  • A packed lunch and snacks PLEASE NOTE we have a nut-free policy, and as we have a number of children with allergies, this is particularly important. We reserve the right to remove any packed lunch item containing nuts which will be returned to parents at pick up - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL PACKAGING VERY CAREFULLY We also ask that children don't share their lunches, because of the number of children who do have allergies). There will be two extra breaks during the day so please includes snacks and a bottle of water that can be refilled during the day

  • Any medication that needs to be administered or that you would like us to have available for your child during the day (asthma pumps, epi pens, antihistamines etc) - these will need to be signed in and out and please make sure it is labelled with your child’s name. To save time please complete this online form before the club so we will have all the information we need and permission to administer: https://nimblearts.wufoo.com/forms/nimble-arts-permission-to-administer-medication/

  • Waterproof coat and sensible shoes for outdoor play

  • Clothes they can move easily in, and that you don't mind getting a bit messy - whilst we have overalls available for craft projects, a bit of rogue paint or glue can sometimes escape!

  • An extra bag labelled to take home things that your child has made

5 stars - the boys (6 and 4) did 2 days over half term and absolutely LOVED it. The sessions are so engaging, fun and educational and the teachers/assistants enthusiastic, warm and fun. I can’t recommend this holiday club more highly. Thank you for a fun time! - Parent, 2019

Do you provide 1:1 Support?

Before the pandemic, we were able to offer up to 2 days 1:1 support for children with additional needs to attend the holiday club. We do not receive funding for this, it was something we funded ourselves. It is with huge regret we have to announce we will not be able to fund any 1:1's in 2021 as the funds we had set aside for this support have all had to be used to keep the business running while we were closed. We hope to resume this service as soon as we have recovered financially from the closure or secured some SEND funding. If you would like to discuss your child's additional needs please drop us an email and we will do everything we can to support info@nimblearts.co.uk

First Aid and Medication

We have a qualified first responder/medic from First Aid Cover on site for the full day. They record any first aid incidents which will be emailed to you and you will receive a call from us in the case of any serious incidents. Our First Responder will undergo Covid-19 training. Once you have booked please refer to your booking email for the 'Permission to administer medication' online form if your child requires prescription medication. Please note our First Responder can only administer prescription in-date medicines.

Sign in and out and adding Approved Collectors to your account

We take safeguarding extremely seriously at Nimble Arts and sign every child in electronically onto our register system. Please be patient if there is a queue at either sign in our out, it is of paramount importance that every child is safely signed in especially while we are operating Covid-19 protocols.

On arrival children will be signed in at the front gate (Dunstan's Road Entrance) and staff will take them to their Bubble Home Room - parents and carers will be asked to drop-off at the gate and not enter the building unless this is essential. Our First Aider will be available in reception to sign in medication and discuss any medical needs as will the Centre Manager.

You must add anyone who is approved to collect your child to your Magic Booking account. COVID-19 CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY: (followed for any Covid-19 related cancellations)

There is currently no insurance available that covers registered childcare settings against loss of income due to Cororna-virus-related closure or the need to send home individual children or whole bubbles of children whether due to their own suspected infection, or coming into contact with a suspected case of the virus. We therefore have to ask parents to sign up to the cancellation policy below which overrides the policy above should the following conditions come into play. We in no way wish to cause parents distress, financial hardship or be paid for services we cannot offer. However, as a very small company who has been severely financially affected by Covid-19 closure, we are not in the position to take the financial risk of closure and full refund. In the events of closure or having to send children/staff/bubbles home we still have to pay all club-related costs, PPE costs, resources, staff costs and rental to the school. Therefore, we want to make parents aware of the following and ask them to agree to all clauses:

In the event that you have paid for your place at one of our clubs but your child develops symptoms and has to isolate (or is in isolation period on the day they should be attending:

- we cannot refund the money paid for the booking unless we can offer the space to a child on the waiting list

- where possible, we will look to allocate paid-for bookings as credit towards a future club - however we cannot guarantee this will be possible due to potential numbers of cases, and will review on a case by case basis

In the event that you have paid for your place at one of our clubs, and we inform you of a case of suspected Corona-virus where a child or staff member is suspected of having the virus, or has come into contact with a suspected case, and has been bubbled or worked closely with your child, where we ask that your child be collected and not attend until the suspected case is either confirmed or cleared of infection:

- we cannot refund the money paid for the booking unless we can offer the space to a child on the waiting list

- where possible, we will look to allocate paid-for bookings as credit towards a future club - however we cannot guarantee this will be possible due to potential numbers of cases, and will review on a case by case basis

In the event that we have to close the club due to not enough staff being available due to isolation, multiple suspected cases of the virus across multiple bubbles, or in the event that government guidelines and regulations for out of school provision changes at short notice:

- we will not be able to offer refunds for places already paid for

- we will credit at least 50% of the remaining booking cost that children cannot attend for to parent accounts for use at a future club

It is with a heavy heart that we have to impose such strict financial conditions, but we want our policy and reasoning to be completely transparent.

**PLEASE NOTE PARENTS WILL BE ASKED TO AGREE TO OUR ADDITIONAL COVID-19 CANCELLATION POLICY ON BOOKING**

If you need to cancel on the day please call 0333 014 2576 or text 07714 745 040.

What will happen is there is a confirmed case of Covid-19?

If a case of Covid-19 us suspected or confirmed, and your child has come into contact with the suspected infected person, then we will inform you as soon as possible as you and your child will need to go into quarantine according to current guidelines.

Pictures, videos and Class Dojo:

The privacy and online safety of children is very important to us. We do not take pictures of children that are identifiable (include their faces) and we do not publish identifiable pictures of children on social media. Some of our creative workshops involved filmed content e.g. movie trailer making. We will share the results of these projects with parents from the group involved via a private link. If you do not want your child to be involved in any filmed project work please let us know at drop-off and we will give them a red wrist band. Again, no video footage will be shared on social media and we ask you do not share any private footage from the activities shared with parents.

From October 2020 we will be using Class Dojo to track your child's individual progress through the day - we will set up an account for them and then send you an invitation so you will be able to see pictures of their work (only available to you for your child) and points they pick up during the day for great behaviour, ideas and work. **THERE IS AN OPTION IN THE PRE-BOOKING AGREEMENT TO OPT IN AND OUT OF OPTIONS RELATED TO CLASS DOJO**

How will your club be Covid-secure?

We will be working closely with the team at Goodrich Primary on all aspects of our risk assessment and management of Covid-19. Our plans are based around the government guidance for out of school settings:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/protective-measures-for-holiday-or-after-school-clubs-and-other-out-of-school-settings-for-children-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak/protective-measures-for-out-of-school-settings-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak

We are also monitoring the guidance given to schools daily and will amend any of our practices in line with schools. This may include face coverings for all children (where possible), staff and parents/carers. There will be a strict protocol on hand-washing and the use of hand sanitiser, social distancing in all communal spaces, extra cleaning staff for areas and equipment, and zoning of areas of the school to avoid bubbles coming into contact with each other.  We will be operating our own Track and Trace system.

In the event of a case of Covid-19 being identified, all parents/carers of affected bubbles will be notified and will need to isolate in line with government guidelines. Please see later section on Cancellation and Refunds policy for more information on how this would affect your booking.

Our risk assessment for children, staff, parents and carers is designed around the following areas:

1. Minimise contact with individuals who are unwell.

2. Clean your hands often.

3. Maintain respiratory hygiene (catch it, bin it, kill it).

4. Clean surfaces that are touched frequently.

5. Minimise contact and mixing.

6. Personal protective equipment (PPE).

7. Engage with NHS Track and Trace.

8. Manage confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) amongst the setting community.

9. Contain any outbreak by following local health protection team advice.
