DAY TWO Hello?? Hello?? Are you reading me? This is Penny - I hope you're getting this as there's not a lot of reception here in Tudor times!! At least...I think that's where I am? Tudor Palace? Check! Quite large king currently eating a chicken drum stick? Check! Yup, pretty sure I'm going to be hanging out with Henry VIII. I hardly know anything about the Tudors do you? If you like doing research have a good old read HERE while I try and have a look around!

Ok I've done some reading...I feel like I understand a bit more now do you? Maybe you were already a Tudor expert! While I was reading on my infolinator I made a friend! He's called Will Sommers and he says he's a court jester! I asked him what that means and he says he's in charge of entertaining the king's court (his court is like ALL the people who live in the palace). But he's lost his pet monkey Scuffles (can you find him in the picture above?) so he's asked if we can entertain the King and court for the day while he looks for him. So will you help??

FOR TASK ONE YOU WILL NEED:
A printer to print the template
Hat template HERE
3 colours of paper (or white paper and felt tips)
Glue
Scissors
A stapler
For the puppet:
A lolly stick, or wooden spoon, straw... or your own design!
Decorations

TASK ONE: JESTER HAT AND PUPPET

Before we plan the day's entertainment we have to look the part! Watch the video then get to work -  And don't forget you can pause the video if it's going too fast! Jack sent me pictures of your jet packs yesterday so I know you can make something out of nothing!

TASK TWO: PERFORMANCE FIT FOR A KING

Great work! Ok...we're ready to create the show of a life time! Now, this is when your skills, talents, sense of humour and sense of fun really come into play. You can practice ANY kind of performance for the king but here are some ideas to help you...

LEARN MORE ABOUT COURT JESTERS AND STREET ENTERTAINERS IN TUDOR TIMES HERE

A MUSICAL PERFORMANCE if you play an instrument and can read music you could try the popular Tudor tune Greensleeves. Click HERE for sheet music or a here's a keyboard or piano video version to copy. Or you could try singing it if you like to sing!

ACROBATICS Are you a brilliant gymnast? If so, create a routine to wow the whole royal court!

A DANCE PERFORMANCE Do you love dancing? If so - try out this Tudor Dance HERE - Will has been trying to teach me but says I have a lot to learn - rude!!

JUGGLING Tudor's loved to juggle! If you can find some juggling balls or tennis balls at home (or tangerines, apples, bananas ...improvise!) - watch the video and have a go! Try scarves first!

JOKES If you're a funny bones have a go at learning some of THESE KNOCK KNOCK JOKES - you could use your jester puppet if you made one and tell them jokes to them in you performance (you'll have to make up their voice!) How many can you perform in a minute?

TASK THREE: MAZE DESIGN

Will is still off looking for Scuffles so he's given us another task! They want to build a maze here at Hampton Court but cant agree on the best design - can you help? (Please help because I don't want to be thrown in the dungeon! You can be a MAZE DESIGNER or a MAZE DESIGN CHECKER or make a giant outdoor or indoor maze - whichever you like. Watch the video for instructions (The maze grid design task is seriously tricky so check below for some other options if its making your brain hurt - it made mine hurt!)

FOR TASK  THREE YOU WILL NEED:
For a 2D Maze:
Pencil and felt tips
Ruler
Rubber
You could also make a 3D maze from recycling or lego!
If you want to be a Maze Design Checker: download the maze designs I've located via by webscanulator. Try out the mazes then take a picture of the maze with your marks our of 10 and comments written next to it - then we can show the King's Master of Entertainments to see if he likes them. If it was a great maze give it 10/10. If it was too easy give it a lower score:
.

MAZES 1 MAZES 2 MAZES 3 MAZES 4 MAZES 5

King Henry VIII is laughing so much

at your performances by the way! Well done! Listen:

00:00 / 00:29

TASK FOUR: PALL MALL

There's still no sign of Scuffles but Will says if I help him look he will find a craftsman who can help fix time portal so I can get home! Will was supposed to explain to the king how to play a game called Pall Mall but he says he can't remember!  He said he thinks it's played by 2-4 players, it uses a stick to hit a ball....and that's all her can remember! So to meet this challenge either:

1. Write out YOUR rules for Pall Mall  - make up how to play, how the game works, how you score points and how you win!

2. Film yourself playing your own version of the game and explain how it works - use anything you can find for the stick and the ball. Maybe you have to hit something with the ball? Maybe you have to get it in a hole or through an obstacle course?

I can't wait to see your ideas...and be quick, that dungeon does NOT look fun. I'll let you know if I escape - I can't thank you enough Nimble Crew!!

Wow that was close! Thanks to all your hard work I made it home! You're the BEST! But there are still 8 more members of my family lost in time and space! Can you come back tomorrow and help Dexter? Thanks team!
