DAY FOUR Hi Nimble Crew!  This is Wilma coming to you live from the prehistoric.... AGHHHHHHH!! Sorry! Woah, something just roared pretty loud nearby!

So no time to chat! I'm stuck on my own in the forest with some massive dinos and I don't know anything about this period of history! Why couldn't I get sent to somewhere with shops - I LOVE shopping, specially for shoes. Anyway, I haven't got much time! First thing I need is all of you to make a dino disguise so I can create a forcefield of dinosaur holograms around me so the creatures won't see me as I move through the forest. I need to find some wood and stones to fashion into tools you see but I can't just walk around it's too dangerous. Watch the video I sent and send through pictures when your done! Thanks!

TASK 1: DINO DISGUISE

Watch the video and get creating - I need you to looks as realistic as possible! Don't forget to post pics of your work any time back on the MISSION LOG page at the top!

FOR TASK ONE YOU WILL NEED:
Paper (white or coloured)
Scissors
A Stapler or Tape
Pencil
Ruler
Felt Tips
Paper clips if you have them
There is also a design that can be made from an egg box or tissue box foot claws!

TASK 2: PALAEONTOLOGISTS NOTEBOOK

I'm going to need you to become a world expert in dinosaurs to help me out if I come across any! A Palaeontologist is someone who studies dinosaurs...I don't know anything about them! Please do your research and then create the ultimate guide for me! You can make your book anyway you like - you might even want to attach a string so I can wear it round my neck!

FOR TASK TWO YOU WILL NEED:

Paper

Pens and pencils

Printer for template or ruler

Card or cardboard for cover

Glue stick

Scissors

HERE's one suggestion for making the book and HERE's the template you need for the cover (you can also join your own  version!) Use each page to tell me about a different dino.

Here's  some info I've pulled up from the Time Portal archives. You could print, cut, stick, copy, do your own research from books, whatever you'd like! Just fill that book full of DINO FACTS!

CUT AND COLOUR DINOS

LOADS OF STUFF TO EXPLORE

TASK 3: DESIGN A DEN

I don't think I can stay out in the open much longer without risking being eaten! Can you design a den for me? You can make your den inside or outside or draw it but I need to:

 - be able to completely hide inside it

- have a lookout place I can peek through to see the dinos

- have a nice comfy place to sleep

- have somewhere to cook some food

- have some fun things to do in case I can bored!

Here's some sounds I recorded from my hiding place you can play outside your den so you know what it's like here!

TASK 4: FOSSIL MAKER There's one other job I need you to do for me if you've got time! I need to make a record of all the amazing fossils that got caught up in the Time Pod propellor as I travelled back through 65 million years. I know Grandpa will be fascinated by these and will want to start identifying the creatures straight away to I've taken a picture of what I've found but I need you to draw them properly for me! You can learn about the amazing fossil Hunter Mary Anning in this video. She's my new hero!

FOR TASK FOUR YOU WILL NEED:

There are a few different ways you can help me remember all the fossils I have found. The easiest way is to cut out 12 paper circles. Then using a pencil or thin black pen make a fossil sketch of each one of my collected fossils which you can find HERE

If you're working with a grown up you could also try making the SALT DOUGH version using water, flour and salt. There are some great instructions HERE

Don't forget to send pictures of your work straight to Grandpa (that's Professor Nimblino to you!) so he can start identifying them!

I know you'll work hard to rescue me - you always do! Oh and by the way...once you've made your fossils if you need an extra challenge do some fossil hunter training: Ask someone to hide your fossils in one room or in a garden and time yourself for how fast you can find them then let me know on the portal! I think the world record for 12 fossils is 46 seconds.. GOOD LUCK!

Phew! Thanks to your
ingenious designs and
hard work, I made it out
of the jungle with only
a few scratches! Here's a message from home! The Professor will need you again tomorrow! Rest well.
