Coming to our Drop-off Holiday Club
Goodrich Primary, SE22 0EP
Non-attendance and illness
If your child is ill or cannot attend for any reason, please call or text us as soon as possible on the day. We will always do our best to refund, fill your space, or give you credit for the day if we can.
On arrival children can visit our breakfast bar where they can have toast (gluten free bread available) with butter/spread, jam, honey, marmite or other fruit spread. We also have fruit juice, fresh seasonal fruit and yoghurt available. Breakfast bars are staffed by food hygiene trained members of the team and are available in the Upper and Lower Halls and in the Hedgehogs room. Breakfast is included in the full day or morning price and you are welcome to stay with your child while they help themselves.
We have a qualified first responder/medic from First Aid Cover on site for the full day. They record any first aid incidents which will be emailed to you.
Pictures and videos
We keep up a running commentary of our Holiday Club days as activities unfold and work is produced at our Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram so you can keep up to date with all the latest from the day. Please note we don't publish pictures or video of children's faces where they can be identified. At the end of the day you will receive a private link to the photo gallery from the day. This is only sent to parents booked for the club that day and is not publicly published anywhere - please do not share any of these pictures with anyone else or on social media as this breaches GDPR privacy policies. We include all children in the pictures and videos – if you do not want your child to appear please ask for a red band at sign in so we can make sure they are not pictured – even though you can update this on your account we have found this is by far the easiest way for staff to avoid any pictures of children who should not be photographed.
We have a small budget available to provide up to 2 days a week 1:1 support for any child who needs it (although please note we cannot offer intimate care). Please get in touch to find out more.
Sign in and out and adding Approved Collectors to your account
We take safeguarding extremely seriously at Nimble Arts and sign every child in electronically onto our register system. Please be patient if there is a queue at either sign in our out, it is of paramount importance that every child is safely signed in.
On arrival you will be signed in at the front door and then taken to the sticker table where you will find your child’s group sticker. On the way in to collect you will be asked for your name - our team will then check your name against your child's Magic Booking record to ensure you are an approved collector. If the person collecting your child does not appear on their approved collector's list we will need to call the child's emergency contacts to confirm which is time consuming. To add a collector to your account please login and click on My Children and then collectors. Once they are added, they have permission to drop off and collect your child any time until your remove them so you don't need to tell us a specific person is picking up as long as they appear on the list.

What age groups do you accept?
Children from their 4th birthday up to the last day of their 11th year can attend for a full day. We do not currently accept 3 year old's.
How are the days organised?
Every day has a completely different theme and range of workshops which explore the theme holistically through chosen the arts, history, science, creative technology and more. In between sessions children have their own 'home' area depending on the age and group. We are quite unique in terms of the amount of work we put into grouping children and ensuring they are both with friends if they want to be, but also in the right group for their age and with the staff who have the training to work with that age group. See more about making group requests below.
We have approximately 25 spaces per day for our pre-school and reception age children. They have their own group called the Hedgehogs and are looked after in between workshop sessions in their own Hedgehog's Room which is just near the bottom hall where our Year 1 and 2's hang out. Hedgehogs take part in all the same workshops as well has having their own time in the Year 1-2 Hall and on the giant bouncy castle and lots of outdoor play.
We have 40 places open to Year 1-2 children who are grouped into Chipmunks and Puffins. These groups have the bottom hall as their home space which is full of activity areas for them to choose from. They will attend adapted versions of the workshops in their groups of around 20 and have a big team of staff managed by our Early Years Manager. The group in which your child is placed depends on your requests but also on the number of children of a certain age attending each day - it may be that they change between one group to another if they attend for a few days, but we will always aim to keep them with friends if requested.
We have 80 places open to Year 3-6's divided into four groups:
Dolphins is our transition group of 6-7's which children can join when they are ready to move up from the downstairs hall - this can happen at their own pace and we don't mind how long they want to stay downstairs! Meerkats is made up of older 6-7's and Zebras 7-8's (although again these groups can be more mixed depending on friend requests. Our Eagles (approx. age 9-11) have their own home space off the top hall called the Eagles Nest that is their own chill out space with some more grown up activities. All groups follow a busy timetable of free choice time in their activity halls, Three creative workshops and one 'Funhouse' session including a few go's on our giant bouncy castles!
Although the numbers we have each day are large, the clubs for each age group are run in separate spaces with small ratios of adults to children and activities and workshops tailored to those ages. Children are welcomed into their spaces each morning by well-trained staff who know that being dropped off can be scary, and they are ready to show children round and engage them in an activity of their choice before the morning briefing at 9.30am.
How do I request that my child is in the same group as a friend of sibling?
We do our very best to group friends and siblings who want to be together in the same group but need this information as early as possible and at the very least by 1.00pm the day before your child is attending as sign in is a very busy time and we want to minimise delays.
The reason we group children is so that we can tailor the day to their interests and abilities for their age group - if lots of younger children are places in an older group it has an effect on their experience and autonomy, and vice versa.
These age groups are not rigidly set in stone as the main thing for us is children feel comfy and can interact with peers of their age – but we do need to be mindful of ratios and numbers in each group which is why we ask for requests by 1.00pm the day before attendance using this form: https://nimblearts.wufoo.com/forms/nimble-arts-holiday-club-group-request/
Once you have made a request this is recorded on your child's account in the medical Info box so any time those children attend the club on the same day they will be grouped together.
What do we need to bring?
Every day is a completely different adventure at Nimble Arts but the things you will need on each day are:
A packed lunch and snacks PLEASE NOTE we have a nut-free policy, and as we have a number of children with allergies, this is particularly important. We reserve the right to remove any packed lunch item containing nuts which will be returned to parents at pick up - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL PACKAGING VERY CAREFULLY We also ask that children don't share their lunches, because of the number of children who do have allergies). There will be two extra breaks during the day so please includes snacks and a bottle of water that can be refilled during the day
Any medication that needs to be administered or that you would like us to have available for your child during the day (asthma pumps, epi pens, antihistamines etc) - these will need to be signed in and out and please make sure it is labelled with your child’s name. To save time please complete this online form before the club so we will have all the information we need and permission to administer: https://nimblearts.wufoo.com/forms/nimble-arts-permission-to-administer-medication/
Waterproof coat and sensible shoes for outdoor play
Clothes they can move easily in, and that you don't mind getting a bit messy - whilst we have overalls available for craft projects, a bit of rogue paint or glue can sometimes escape!
An extra bag labelled to take home things that your child has made
We welcome any recycling for our scrap yard making are so please feel free to bring as much as you like!
5 stars - the boys (6 and 4) did 2 days over half term and absolutely LOVED it. The sessions are so engaging, fun and educational and the teachers/assistants enthusiastic, warm and fun. I can’t recommend this holiday club more highly. Thank you for a fun time! - Parent, 2019
