9:30 - 10:00 ALL GROUPS IN BUBBLE GROUPS
30 MINUTES: MISSION LAUNCH - TIME TO GET TO KNOW THE TEAM
5 MINUTE INTRO

For grown-ups: 

- Watch the intro video

- Then use the notes on Trello to tell children about the day

- Play some get to know you games - the children might be able to suggest some really good ones

- Children can decorate their resources box

- If there's time they can design a logo for the group

- If you want to try something as a whole group try moving along to DON'T READ LIKE A ROBOT

Or try FABIOS MEATBALL RUN ON THE SPOT

DRILL 1
10:00 - 10:45 Turtles and Meerkats in Hall

For grown-ups:

  • Take children into the hall with their water bottles and ask them to find a space where they can see the screen. 

  • Make sure bubbles remain spaced out

  • Tell children they are going to be doing some training to become super strong for their adventure

  • When everyone is ready start the video  workout video

For grown-ups: This Viking Workshop is divided into a number of parts\

PART 1:

- You will need an A2 piece of paper to make your Viking Fact Journal - just press play on Part 1

PART 2: 

- You will need your Viking Fact Notebook and pens

- This activity splits the group into two to make a treaty - you can work with a group each and children can feedback on their work to the group

PART 3:

- You will need your Viking Fact Journals that you made earlier to sketch yourself as a Viking Leader

PART 4: Time to learn a Viking chant as a group - the words are below

SKILL 1

For grown-ups: 

  • Watch the video first - you can always go back to it during the session

The team will be designing their own  Viking helmet and sheild

For the helmet you will need:

- white A3 card

- foil

- scissors and glue

- stapler / tape (adults)

-  

 

For the shield you will need:

- shield blank

- foil

-sticky foam

- decorations

- scissors,

- glue

- felt tips

The video suggests the basic structure for the helmet but children can approach this in any way they like.

You may want to use a stapler or tape to help them construct their helmets.

When the activity is finished please make sure children have put their name on their work and have put it in their take home box/bag

2:45 - 3:30 TIME SQUAD CHALLENGE ALL GROUPS IN BUBBLE ROOMS
3 MINUTE INTRO

For grown-ups: 

  • Watch the video first - you can always go back to it during the session

You will be completing a basket weaving challenge 

You will need:

-basket kit

- string/paper string to weave - YOU'LL NEED TO DIVIDE UP WHAT YOU HAVE BETWEEN EACH PERSON

You can return or start the longboat activity HERE  from the Time Squad Workshop if you finish early

  • When the activity is finished please make sure children have put their name on their work and have put it in their take home box/bag

3:30 - 3:40 MISSION REPORT

For grown-ups: 

  • Children prepare a report from everything they want to show and tell - you can film this on the iPad or take pictures 

  • They need to explain everything they've made and talk about their books and whats in them

  • Some children may want to write up a report
