For grown-ups 

  • Watch the short introductory video to the day

  • Then you have the rest of the session to explain all the things on your Trello briefing list (above the register), welcome children, play some get to know you games and any other games or activties you know to make them feel happy and settled on the team

  • If you have extra time they can:

    • design a Nimble Arts logo for their group​

    • draw a picture of someone new they have met in the group

    • draw their favourite place and share it with everyone

    • go round the room and ask favourite...

 Note for grown ups - todays Owl and Hedgehog kits are a bit fiddly and come as a set so you may want to start dividing up the kits at the start of the day so you're ready for Skill 1

For grown-ups: SKILL 1: OWL AND HEDGEHOG

  • Watch the introduction video first - it will show children what they are making and what materials they need which will be in your Skill 1 box in the room

  • You need to give out everything and children can arrange everything they need on their table

  • If you need to watch the video again before you start making you can

 

For this activity they will need:

- a hedgehog pom pom kit

- an owl magnet kit

You can demonstrate step by step or let them just get on with making.

When the activity is finished please make sure children have put their name on their work and have put it in their take home/bag

For grown-ups:

  • Take children into the hall with their water bottles and ask them to find a space where they can see the screen. 

  • Tell children they are going to be doing some training to become super strong for their adventure

  • When everyone is ready navigate to this page on the computer linked to the screen  - there is a shortcut on the desktop

For grown-ups:

-This is a workshop where children can listen and you can stop and discuss ideas when the workshop leader suggests it

- They can do some extra practice of the song and you can always ask them questions about what they've learned at the end

For grown-ups: SKILL 2

  • You need to give out everything and children can arrange everything they need on their table

For this activity children will be designing their own magical tree house. They will need:

- a tree template

- woodland stickers

- leaves

- any other decorations

- glue

- scissors

When the activity is finished please make sure children have put their name on their work and have put it in their take home box/bag

For grown-ups:

  • Take children into the hall with their water bottles and ask them to find a space where they can see the screen. 

  • Tell children they are going to be doing some yoga training

  • When everyone is ready just press play on the video

For grown-ups:

  • Ecourage children to show what they've made and tell you all about it and what they've enjoyed during the day 

  • You can also remind them what they've done 

  • Make sure everything is in their brown bags ready to take home

  • Then watch the final video at the end of the session

For grown-ups:

  • Once the room is tidy and children have everything they need to go home, they can settle into their chair (or under their table!) ready for story-time

  • Just press play on the video 

For grown-ups:

  • We have changed the end of the day - children will now come into the hall for Cinema Time at 3:45 with all their stuff - they will sit in lines next to the name of their bubble on the floor and we will keep everyone really quiet while we come in and whisper names from parents for pick up
